About THE SANDLOT

It’s the summer of 1962 and brainy fifth grader Scotty Smalls is desperately trying to make new friends after his family relocates to a San Fernando Valley neighborhood. Smalls hooks up with a group of kids who’re looking for a ninth player in their sandlot baseball team.

The only problem? He’s terrible at baseball.

The gang’s adventures bring them into contact with an intimidating presence known as "The Beast”, an iconic piece of baseball memorabilia, and the intimidating and iconic presence of James Earl Jones. Heartwarming, hilarious, and completely quotable – THE SANDLOT is a love letter to the American pastime and to the friendships you make as a child that last your whole life.
